• I don’t understand how on earth this development is needed or can be justified, Magna Park is very close by and already uses the DIRFT which is less than 10 miles away from it, so why would it use this one near to Hinckley in this case? DIRFT brings in freight from Felixstowe and also from Southampton, Tilbury and Liverpool. • South Leicester is much easier to get to from Magna Park than from any new development and we already have very bad congestion where the M1 and M69 meet. Add onto this a vast amount of lorries and it will be a disaster to get anywhere in our locality. Our roads in Burbage are already gridlocked when there are problems on the A5, M6 /M1 and M69 • I don’t understand how there is a market for this development as we already have Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) and East Midlands Gateway nearby • I regularly work in Littlethorpe and Whetstone as a Support Worker to elderly people – I can already wait at the level crossing 3 or 4 times within a 2 hour session whilst running errands and also on my way home late afternoon. This causes traffic to backup up immensely – I can’t imagine what impact the extra trains will have on this for myself and more importantly to the local people in the area. • My parents live in Sapcote and are elderly. The volume of traffic has got such a lot worse in recent years with the amount of new houses being built there. Tritax are planning ‘improvements’ to the highways throughout the village which will decimate the village centre and make walking around the village [Redacted]. When we went to the consultation about the development, we asked where abouts the bypass was planned and my husband pointed out to Tritax that the line for it went through brand new housing between Sapcote and Stoney Stanton – we were told that the line was only indicative but they couldn’t answer our very simple question of where the bypass would actually run – this is very basic information I would think? • I can’t imagine the volume of lorries which would divert through the village despite APNR supposedly monitoring this. • Opening up the M69 slips seems to be appealing to people who are unfortunately not grasping that the volume of lorries being put onto it will negate any benefits. • I spoke to Tritax at the consultation about who these jobs will be aimed at as there is extremely low unemployment in our area and was told that if the jobs aren’t filled that workers will be brought in by bus!! As they already are for Magna Park apparently from Burton on Trent. So the proposed cycle way will be of no use and employees won’t live near enough to use them. • I use Burbage Common & Woods on a very regular basis (as have my parents for the last 80 years). It is really well used by dog walkers, joggers and families and is very nice for a childrens picnics and refreshments at Acorns Café. The development will completely overshadow Acorns Café and I won’t be able to go there anymore without this monstrosity being there. • Future children will be affected in their health by all of the diesel fumes from the HGVs as this is so near to residential areas. • I have also never known this area to flood until very recent years and this is most likely in my opinion to be from the overbuilding and development in our area – I want to live in a rural area, not near to this development with light pollution, noise pollution and hardly any wildlife left for the future generations to enjoy
