The impact of the huge developments on the A5 at Hinckley, Magna Park at Lutterworth and huge plans for 1000s of new houses is making life so difficult. Roads are gridlocked and if there is an accident anywhere on them, which unfortunately is very frequent it is hellish. The green space is being eaten up and the villages are joining into each other and there is no infrastructure for additional people, children etc Elmesthorpe is shown on the plans as being on a straight road. This is not the case. It is narrow and bends. There are points where two lorries are not able to pass. Paths are narrow and you can feel the vehicles as they pass you. This is a very equestrian area and horse are always on the road. The pollution is already an issue due to the M69 and this will get much worse. There is a cluster of childhood and adult cancers in Elmesthorpe and Stoney Stanton. In one Close in Elmesthorpe there are 20 houses and there have been 4 childhood cancers and 6 adult. These homes are near the stream and railway line as well as the M69. The stream already floods and is eroding. The fields they plan to concrete over also flood so heavily they are like lakes. The stream will not sustain the extra run off. It can turn into a 20ft wide gushing torrent now. The noise levels from the M69, current trains and Clickers Way are increasing. A rail freight terminal will make this much worse. Magna Park still has available space, in addition some of the current occupiers including the Disney Store are closing which will provide further availability. There is no need to build more on this land. This land is superb agricultural land. It takes years to get it to this level. In current times we should be growing more on such great land not concreting it over. The junction at the Mill on the Soar is always busy and will be much worse and Narborough Railway Station will constantly have a barrier down which is totally impractical. We do not need more jobs in this area. Unemployment is not an issue here. Staff are already being bussed in to existing businesses from a huge radius. Rail freight is simply not being utilised to a worthwhile level. Crick is under used as are others nearby. We do not need another The wildlife and countryside around our villages and Burbage Common will be destroyed.
