This project will concrete over hundreds of Hectares of farm and green belt land and abut up to a local community area, being Burbage Common Woods and will no doubt spoil the enjoyment of the peace & quiet of the countryside for 10's of thousands of visitors. With the substantial increase in the amount of heavy rail traffic, no doubt on a 24/7 basis, the plight of of residents like me & my family in the villages located near to the proposed site will be seriously & detrimentally affected. Likewise the reported 5000 additional lorry journeys per day plus worker vehicles will seriously affect air quality as well as noise levels where the local infrastructure is totally inadequate to sustain such volumes. No doubt the proposed link road to the A47 traffic Island on the outskirts of Barwell will tempt hauliers to take this route, rather than via the M69 as proposed ( I do however support the improvements to the M69 junction to create new off/on slip roads). This will cause chaos on the A47 Normandy Way, especially at the junction with the A5 main Trunk Road at Dodwells Bridge and continuation of the A47 Long Shoot which is already chaos at peak times or when the M6 or M69 are closed due to accidents. Improvements to the A5 between the M69 and Atherstone & westward have been discussed & delayed over many years. We are located in the so called 'Golden Triangle' where warehousing & Logistics centres are sprouting or expanding all over the area including on the A5 just south of Hinckley & at Magna Park, Lutterworth and at Desford, again where much needed productive farmland is being covered over with concrete & tarmac. Finally, there will need to be a huge increase in housing stock to accommodate the workforce and support businesses no doubt this will be in addition to the proposed 2,500 properties for the Barwell SUE which keeps stalling.
