This proposal is unnecessary as there are already similar facilities locally, Magna Park, DIRFT & Kegworth for example. There is also recently opened the huge DPD distribution centre on the A5, Hinckley as well as several other smaller such sites. The proposal is titled as rail facility. This is totally misleading as the vast majority of movement will be by HGV. This will cause increased traffic movement beyond what the current or proposed infrastructure can cope with. This will come with a massive increase in air, noise & light pollution ruining the quality of life for local residents. The site will also destroy many arces of green space which will have a massive impact on wildlife. And the environment. Any employment opportunities presented are unnecessary as the area has very, very low unemployment rates to begin with. It is likely that the majority of the workforce will commute vast distances from less employment opportunity provided areas which will only increase the number of vehicular movements and further impact on the environment.
