Sapcote, where we live, has a constricted road in terms of the width and the lack of clear visibility with bends through the village centre in the vicinity of the Co-op shop. Which also happens to be where the children have to cross over twice a day on their way to school. Traffic passing through the centre of the village, especially large vehicles often cross over in the path of oncoming traffic. Opening the M69 junction fully would allow for an increase in vehicles driving along this road and it's just not safe for this to happen. Also should the M69 be closed, the lorries would be diverted through the villages (including Sapcote) off of the slip road that is included in the plan. Burbage common is a place of natural beauty that should be preserved for residents and visitors in the nearby villages to enjoy . Regardless of proposed landscaping, the project will be a blot on the landscape with increased emissions from the lorries choking the clean air and noise pollution for the surrounding residents. The fields bordering Sapcote and around Burbage Common are liable to flood. Our concern is that the area will get further and possibly more damaging flooding incidents should the project go ahead. The workforce to operate the warehouses, would also need to be transported to the area from elsewhere. Locally 95% employment in the area, jobs created are not required. Bus services to the villages are practically non existent currently, so more car users in the area.
