I whole heartedly oppose this new development and, like all of my neighbours, friends and family, hope that due consideration is given to our views. This is being proposed in an area where it is not required and not wanted. The local area and infrastructure is already at capacity, the roads are full and building this project will significantly increase traffic in our area. It is not an area that requires additional jobs, in fact there are already many houses being built to get people in to fill the vacant jobs currently in existence from the previous developments. It is not an area that requires redevelopment, it's an attractive part of Leicestershire which will be spoilt by this awful industrial project, the area has already seen green areas being overtaken by warehousing and distribution. This project will affect everyone from miles around in a negative way, for the day to day lives, commuting to work, running their businesses. Then we have the environmental impact. In my job as an energy consultant I'm constantly being asked how we protect our environment, and this goes against the government goals of sustainability, it's destroying acres upon acres of green land that we desperately need to keep hold of. The common land is a community space for people to meet, to walk their dogs, for social sports, and to spend time in the countryside. The energy required on this project will put even more pressure on an area already at capacity, the electricity, the concrete, tarmac, roads, the list goes on and all replacing green land full of wildlife. I very strongly urge this project to find a different location, somewhere that would benefit from redevelopment, this is not the correct space for it, it will not be welcomed and will massively impact our community in a negative way.
