My key concerns about the proposed project are: - The effect of the increased road traffic on the surrounding roads, specifically increased HGV traffic through the villages. This will be exacerbated if the proposed level of rail traffic is not achieved and the site becomes another large warehouse road hub. - there are already two rail freight interchanges within a few miles of the proposed site at DIRFT and East Midlands, both with better motorway access and less impact on surrounding villages, why do we need another such a short distance away? There is also one of the largest warehousing sites in the country at Magna Park, less than 5 miles away, this site is already undergoing massive expansion - we do not need even more warehousing in such a condensed area. - The proposed facility will need a large workforce. There are a number of issues around meeting this requirement - - where are the large numbers of workers going to come from?. There is already a labour shortage in the sector - - if found where are they going to live, this would require significant new houses and the travel to and from work will put even more pressure on surrounding infrastructure, roads, schools, doctors etc. - The proposal will have a significant adverse effect on the environment of the surrounding area with damage caused to air quality, noise levels and local ecology.
