We have not been fully informed about the RFI, ref. the impact on road traffic to and from the site, the impact on the wildlife in Burbage Woods and Common during construction and following completion. It is not necessary to this area. There is high employment here, therefore, the RFI would cause extra traffic (cars and buses) on commuter routes from Leicester, Nuneaton and Coventry, to transport commuters during construction and following completion. Due to the need to encourage employment from outside the area, increasing the population, it would cause more pressure on the already strained housing situation and impact on Hospitals, Schools, Dentist and Doctors etc It would add to present traffic congestion on unsuitable roads through villages, eg Burbage, and on the, already problematic A5. There are sufficient freight depots here (W. Midlands Interchange, Burton on Trent, Castle Donnington, Cannock, East Midlands Gateway, Rugby, Hams Hall, Northampton Gateway, Birch Coppice and more). The centre of Burbage is a buildings' conservation area. It is presently used by freight transport to the detriment of the area without additional traffic that the RFI would cause. There are already traffice problems with the B4109 bridge underneath the rail line If the application were to be granted there is a need for traffic weight restrictions on the B578, parts of B4669 and parts of the B4109.
