Considerable concerns over the severe impact to local wildlife, countryside amenities being reduced and a wider impact on an already heavily strained road and rail network. There are several, major warehouse developments already in-situ or undergoing construction around Hinckley and the surrounding area. Where are the demand reports that demonstrates the need for another warehousing and distribution facility? a classic cost and benefit analysis too (which includes the countryside)? Additionally, if this project does go ahead, how are these private companies going to pay for their impact on the road and rail network - negative externalities come to mind here. The jobs provided need to be well-paid jobs with career prospects - these companies need to demonstrate how they will enrich the prospects of the local population rather than just another shed full of automata.
