I oppose the rail freight terminal going ahead, due to several reasons. Increased traffic on the roads causing delays and increased air and noise pollution. The terminal is planned to be built on green space which is next to Burbage common which is an area of beauty and pleasure for locals in the area. People don’t want to have such a massive noisy development when they are out walking on the common. I don’t feel we need another rail freight terminal when there is one not that far away down the A5 near Rugby which local businesses can use quite easily. I feel the rail freight terminal will be a blot on the landscape and the size of it is bigger than our village, therefore our village will expand even more as new houses are built on green spaces to accommodate the workers who will be employed at the terminal. This will lead to more flooding, road congestion, more pollution, more pressure on local health services and more pressure on the small local schools which are already full. I say this due to the people who move to the area to gain work at the terminal will obviously bring their families with them. Also we need to think about the local wildlife that habitat the area where the terminal will be built as we need to provide areas that are safe for wildlife to live. I feel that England will become a place that has no green space left as it will just become a big industrial and housing estate.
