  • Selection of site. No local end user thus substantial onward journeys by road. * Plethora of similar sites in vicinity. Need for spread of rail/road interchanges across the country and not all based in the centre of the country * Sheer impact of vast warehouse complex. Similar in size to the whole of the nearby village of Burbage. * Accumulative impact. Taking into account all the other emerging adjoining development proposals, particularly in the Blaby area * Loss of countryside. Little or no countryside or farmland will be left between Earl Shilton, Elmesthorpe and Stoney Stanton. * Impact on Burbage common. This much loved feature will be cut off from open farmland to the east, with consequential adverse impact on its flora and fauna . * Inadequate assurance on traffic impact. As confirmed in the submissions, by Leicestershire County Council, Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council and Blaby District Council, there is no agreement on impact on the M69, Hinckley Northern Perimeter Road and all roads through Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council. Concern about route to be taken by traffic emerging on to A47, using the difficult route to M1 North. Concern about impact of traffic using the A47 to access A5 W. and congestion at Dodwells roundabout. Concern about additional congestion at junction 21 taking into account existing difficult conditions. Concern about traffic passing through Sapcote to access B1114 * Railway capacity Concern about conflicting ambitions on use of the Leicester - Nuneaton route. Concern about capacity within site to cater for breakdowns. Concern about Narborough crossing closures. * Noise impact and air quality. Taking into account existing air quality and noise issues, the impact of 50,000 daily HGV movements. * Impact of overnight parking. Many of the local roads are now used by HGV drivers, with no overnight facilities. David Bill CC MBE
