The Rail Hub is simply not needed. There is already a rail hub a short distance away in/near Rugby. There is insufficient infrastructure to cope with the additional road traffic that the Hub is bound to generate. More traffic, more pollution, more traffic jams, all to the detriment and quality of life of the local population. The roads surrounding Hinckley are so overcrowded already, that even one additional vehicle is one too many. Getting in and out of the Town is a nightmare and it is no use pretending that all the additional vehicles will avoid the roads in and around Hinckley. They will not! The expansion of the recent Logistic warehousing along the A5 is a case in point. Once the Genie is out of the bottle, it can't be put back. What an awful sight it is, where once were open fields. The environmental impact will be catastrophic. The public space of the common will be reduced in size and the noise pollution form trains and heavy lorries will make the remaining space an unpleasant place to be. You will be unable to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility that this Public space currently provides. Wildlife, from plants, trees, invertebrates, amphibians and mammals will all be decimated. Once gone, they will never return. This is a scheme to make money for the few, at the expense of the many. Why the Council planners are even considering it, is beyond me. They should never approve this abomination.
