The main impacts will be: Sufficient local infrastructure to support such a proposal. Road traffic is already horrendous at peak and off peake times. Noise pollution to local residents from freight interchange and surrounding and proposed road/rail increases. Decrease of green spaces and disruption to remaining green spaces I.e. burbage common. Green spaces will be less tranquil escapes to appreciate time with family/friend, nature, wildlife in a time when we are told their is a obesity epidemic for adults and children, with type2 diabetes on the rise and hughly impacting the stretched Nhs in terms on resources and budgets. So why impact green spaces directly or indirectly, removing opportunities to enjoy fewer and fewer green spaces. Air quality, this will be impacted with construction and increased rail and road traffic. Mid/ Long term impacting local health. Given there is already a freight interchange not far away at crick. Water quality what will be done to ensure phosphates do not enter the water network impacting water health in local streams. Wildlife will also be massively impacted, killed off by the construction work and remaining network thereafter. A precious resource we are told to respect, enjoy and protect. The decision makers need to do the right thing. Stop preaching about all the things we as citizens are meant to do/not do….healthy lifestyle (exercise/stop smoking) protect wildlife…. When actually their decisions impact us the same with fewer green spaces to exercise in the outdoors and poor air quality.
