The project will impact on and be an eyesore to an area of Special Scientific Interest. The railway supporting this project is not electrified so only Diesel trains will be used. The roads around Hinckley are under a great deal of stress already, bringing HGVs into the area will increase pollution and traffic density. There is low unemployment in Hinckley so extra jobs will be taken up be persons from outside the area again increasing pollution and traffic density.
