The proposed plans have not taken into account increased traffic at the M1 J21/M69 junction. Traffic here already causes tailbacks at peaks times. Accidents and incidents are frequent and cause major delays getting into and out of Leicester. Just recently a closure of the M69 north caused major increases in traffic through Sapcote and neighboring villages (the b4114 and A5). There were delays of over an hour indicating that the area can not handle significant increases in traffic. The proposal in question will use the railway line through narborough. The proposed level of train movement and therefore, downtime of this barrier, will cause significant impact on traffic movements in the surrounding areas. The original consultation did not provide any details of the planned highways changes through Sapcote or Stoney Stanton. The new plans will cause significant changes to the villages. The villages will become thorough fairs. Speeding through the villages is already a problem. The proposal will operate through the night. The increase in noise from the site will be constant and also movement and noise through what are currently, quiet countryside villages, will be detrimental to everyone living here The proposal is also not needed. There is no unmet need when there is a rail freight hub 20 miles away in Daventry.
