Given the one million square meters (estimated by Trirax representative) of building footprint and hard standing are in the current plan, how much money is to be spent in mitigation and where? Miles of hedgerows will be removed causing habitat loss. Over 4 kilometers of public footpath will be lost. A perimeter path that runs between the motorway and the HNRFI is not a substitute for the loss of green space and fresh air. Is this to be mitigated elsewhere and if so where and how much will be spent? Please note that the “extension to the common” is wholly inadequate and is part of the flood storage that the site will require to function. Have the numerous ponds (min 8) been checked for newts? As part of the “strategic landscaping” how many mature trees will be planted? Given the height of the buildings proposed (27 – 33M) a £1.50 sapling will take 25 years just to be visible on the 31,000m2 wall of warehouse facing the railway. Who is choosing the colour and look of the buildings? They will be visible for miles and this will impact people in villages all round the site (Barwell, Earl Shilton, Burbage). Roads housing and developments Why are there no improvements to the A5 in the Hinckley area as part of this plan? The A5 - A47 roundabout (junction Coventry road Hinckley), lorries accessing the A5 west could come this way (you are building a link road off the site in this direction) and the roundabout was designed when the turning was just for an industrial estate. Additional work is required why is it not on the plan? On the same island a development is in proposal for a large industrial site (warehousing) on land in Rugby District Borough (Stretton Baskerville CP) Is this included within the traffic plan of the HNRFI site? Thousands of houses are being built and planned in the area (Nuneaton A5, Hinckley A47, Burbage and Stoke Golding) There is no mitigation in place? A5 rail bridge hits. What additional planning and diversionary options are in place to alleviate this? This impacts the site as it is the rail line in use and the site will impact on the A5 traffic. Hinckley and Nuneaton come to a standstill now! M69 Junction of the M1. A good percentage of the traffic using the site (20-35%) will be heading to or from Leicester. Why is the M69 not being made 3 lanes both ways at the M1 interchange as part of the HNRFI? Need for the HNRFI Given the requirement to reduce the UK’s carbon footprint is this the right time to be encouraging imports through Felixstowe? There are no plans to electrify the line in use. Would the use of electric road transport be more efficient? Witch companies have expressed interest in utilizing the HNRFI? It is odd that companies would have its containers moved twice rather than being delivered from a port of their choice direct to the factory? If this is a storage site for manufacturing goods using just in time deliveries for parts then what is the requirement of Greenfield site? Once in the country multiple brown field sites could be redeveloped for storage. If this is a storage site for manufacturing goods using just in time deliveries for parts then what is the requirement for a central location? This site is bad for the local area, bad for transport ,bad for housing and bad for the environment. Stop greenfield development. Stop destroying my country.
