The impact of this project will stretch far beyond Sharnford, I'm surmising an area around 15 to 20 miles will be affected by the increased volume of traffic generated by this rail hub. Which is only a rail hub in name, most of the traffic generated will road traffic. Most roads in the area are already overburdened with traffic. If the predicted projected rail traffic is actually factual the local railway line will not be able to cope and this will affect places even further a field such as Narborough, where the level crossing gate would closed 40 minutes out of every hour. Even with the current level of rail traffic the closure of the level crossing gates is creating ever lengthening queues which back up on surrounding roads, which is already happening today. Another so called benefit is a myth a boost to local employment, this development is taking place in an area that has had a history of low unemployment. At other hubs they are having to bus in the workforce from outside of the county, which leads to even more traffic and pollution in the district. Pollution from traffic is only one form of pollution there's noise and light pollution going to created in the construction and development of this unwanted rail hub. Furthermore there are already lots of empty units at Magna Park just down the road why do we need another hub.
