The proposed site is in the location of small villages and next to the green space of Burbage Common. A local visitors spot for the wildlife and walks in the woods, with bluebells and other flowers along with many different types trees and hedgerows homes to many of birds and insects and creatures who live there. The roads around the area were not built for heavy volumes of traffic and both noise and pollution could be a hazard to the people who live around the proposed site. This could impact on people with asthma chest problems and other such illnesses. The volume of traffic would be immense causing congestion in the villages and surrounding areas. Infrastructure would take away any views that people have from their property and there would be lorries fetching and carrying merchandise to and from the terminal twenty four hours a day along with the workers vehicles impacting on the structure of the environment. The flora would suffer greatly as trees hedgerows flowers and shrubs would be removed. This would have dire consequence's to insects and birds destroying their homes, despite new trees being planted this will take years for the saplings to grow and many species of the birds and insects may never return. The fauna will also have a massive impact as their habitat would be destroyed. This is inevitable as man destroys their homes many of the wildlife may also be killed by traffic or trains. While destroying the flora and the fauna and thinking it is best to build The Freight line we are killing everything in sight . When there is nothing left to take from the natural habitats, man will have destroyed himself too!!! So I strongly object to this propsal.
