I believe the necessity of the proposed project has been overstated. There are already large facilities at Magna Park, DIRFT that have strong distribution links. This proposed facility will not provide something that does not already exist. There are already unfilled vacancies for DPD & other warehousing facilities in the local area, the point regarding job creation relates to a very specific type of unskilled labour and not for long term careers and is not a valid & proportionate reason for its creation. The negative affect on the local environment through destruction of much loved and used countryside, the increase in traffic by way of LGV on smaller local roads, the potential for increased numbers of road traffic accidents due to increased traffic & the the number of foreign LGV. The overall affect on the local community would be negative rather than positive.
