As a Sapcote resident I am very concerned about the impact this development will have on our village in terms of traffic, pollution, noise and the environment. I am particularly concerned about the potential for a large number of lorries to be coming through the village from the A5, with existing traffic already having an impact of the neighbouring village of Sharnford. A lot of children walk through the village centre and their lives will be put at risk by the lorries if no new bypass roads are to be created (as appears to be the case). I was not reassured by anything said by representatives of the developers in the public consultation last year in Sapcote. This included plans that most employees in the HNRFI will be high end salaries and not minimum wage, who will be coming in from a wider radius instead of the local population (where there is not a big need for employment anyway). I do not see the point in building an RFI in this location when there are already many others within the Midlands including Hams Hall, Daventry and Birch Coppice, plus there is already Magna Park close by. In conclusion, I have significant concerns about these plans, they are not necessary to the local environment and community, and will have a negative impact on the Fosse Villages.
