The main issues will be the impact of traffic in the local area and loss of habitat around Burbage common. Most of the units are not rail related but Road so there will be more traffic and workers traffic on the local roads. This area is not designed to take more traffic especially when problems on the M69 and M1 motorways already cause gridlock. The loss of green space for families to walk and take their dogs for a walk will have a huge impact, including affecting mental health and pollution in the area. The impact of the HNRFI on the area will be really significant and I wish to share my objections for the following reasons. First the massive impact of increased traffic in the area. With a new road being built to connect the A47 to M69 extra traffic has already been planned to pass through the area. The traffic will be both road freight and increased car numbers as a lot of the development planned for the freight development is warehousing for road transport not rail. There will also be increased traffic from workers passing through and into the area to get to work. This will put increased pressure on the roads which already become gridlocked when there are issues with the M69, M1 or A5. Secondly only a small part of the development has been allocated for rail freight lots of the development is warehousing units for road transport. There are already many developments within 5 miles and along the A5 corridor such as Magna Park which currently exist for this and could be extended rather than starting more developments in a new site so close to so many small villages. My next point is about the impact on the local wildlife at Burbage woods and common. Currently the woods and common are areas with a diverse range of species and habitats. Our local wildlife will be negatively affected by the proposed development. Finally the woods and common are really beautiful and tranquil areas that are enjoyed by lots of people and local groups in the community and wider area. These natural areas are really important as they provide real health and wellbeing benefits to people in the community without these quiet and natural areas the health and mental wellbeing of community will be affected. The woods and common are a real asset to the community but will be affected by traffic, noise, pollution and the eye sore of containers being stacked 5/6 containers high.
