I strongly object to this as I believe this proposed development is far too big and far too close to residential properties and villages, adversely affecting residential and visual amenity. Entire villages will be surrounded by panels, turning rural villages and fields into industrial landscapes; productive farmland will be sacrificed at a time when the UK needs to be producing more, not less, food; the long period of construction, infrastructure and traffic will have a significant negative impact on the local communities; the height, scale and number of solar panels is unacceptable; the construction phase and ongoing existence of the solar farm will have an adverse effect on wildlife in all its forms. Much smaller solar farms distributed across the country coupled with legislated inclusion of solar panels on ALL new build properties - whether industrial, commercial or private - would be a much fairer and more effective long term way of generating solar energy for all. This proposed scheme is grossly over-sized and far too close to residential properties when there are more remote alternatives, along with brownfield and industrial sites, that could be developed instead.
