We need green energy and, with increasing checks on EU imported foods, we need to grow more of our own food. This means installing large solar farm on good agricultural land makes no sense. We are pursuing one strategy at the expense of the other. Solar panels should be on roof tops not good agricultural land. The land in question will be unavailable for agricultural use for at least 25 years and probably around 40 years. This project will cause significant pollution and disruption to local communities and well as devastating the wildlife during its construction and when finished will be an eyesore and nature desert for evermore. I cycle and walk the lanes and footpaths of this rural landscape enjoying nature’s bounty. It will become an industrial waste land destroying my quality of life.
