I find it incredulous that such a large scale, supposedly environmental solution is being planned for greenfield sites. Surely it would be better to re-develop brownfield and rundown industrial sites. How can such a development be considered a positive move for the environment, when large swathes of arable land and open countryside are to disappear in the name of progress? I genuinely believe that future generations will look back in dismay at the irreversible decisions made in the 2020s, and believe that money would be better spent on the installation of solar panels, firstly on all new homes and then on older properties. There is no way that the local community will benefit from this colossal solar farm, but I am absolutely certain that we will feel the negative effects of such a development, such as increased noise, dirt, traffic and the loss of flora, fauna and wildlife. In what world is this development deemed a good move for the environment? If this development is approved, it will be an absolute travesty.
