It is proposed the solar farm will occupy a staggering 3,000 acres of agricultural land totally surrounding peaceful hamlets/villages. If the application is approved it will totally decimate this beautiful rural landscape with the loss of natural habitats for the abundant wildlife in the area. The hamlet of Gribthorpe will be surrounded by solar panels and high fences. our open landscapes will disappear and the approach to the hamlet will resemble a prisoner of war camp. This can only have an adverse affect on the mental health of local residents who currently enjoy country pursuits of walking/horse riding/bird watching etc I am not totally against solar energy but the size of the proposed development is ridiculous and will not provide any benefit whatsoever for the local communities. Surely it is more important to keep our agricultural land for food production. Once this beautiful rural landscape is ruined by the installation of solar panels it will never recover.
