The proposed solar farm occupies hundreds of acres of fertile growing land. At a time when the Prime Minister is pledging himself to ensuring Britain’s food security the loss of so much arable growing land can’t be justified. The size of this proposed solar farm will have a devastating effect on the wide-skied landscape of a large part of East Yorkshire. Many cycling and rambling groups will lose an essential part of their chosen landscape. The narrow country lanes will not support the volume of construction and maintenance traffic. Personally, having lived and walked in this area for over 30 years, I greet the prospect of unbroken solar panels as a total disaster.
