The East Yorkshire Solar Farm, a 3500 acre solar farm on the farm land around the villages of Spaldington, Gribthorpe, Willitoft, Wressle and the town of Howden will surround our homes, village and local community. The solar panels they are going to use are 3.5 metres tall and will surrounded by 2.2m high fencing. They will border all the roads to our village and will be all we can see for miles around. They will surround our homes and community with these panels. We have so much wildlife around our village and no thought has been given to sustaining the wildlife, who rely on our land for their food and habitat. We need to grow and provide sustainable food for the country's growing population. We should not be relying on food brought in from others countries. This is bad for the environment and also bad for our health. Greener energy and solar energy is a fantstic resourse but we should not be loosing our productiv farmland to glass panels. There are thousands of square feet of industrial roof tops that could be used for such a purpose. The solar farm is proposed as temporary, being 40 years. So future generations, such as myself, can be left with trying to recycle over 3000acres of solar panels, for which there is currently no definitive recycling process.
