I object to this plan. I have visited and stayed in the area many times, I was shocked to hear about the plan submitted for the East Yorkshire Solar Farm. I have always enjoyed the open space, which I feel is typical of our British countryside, with lovely walks down quiet roads with beautiful open views. It feels once again the countryside and the north is being decimated, for commercial gain of large corporations, when there are other options available. We are being told that we need to grow more food in the UK, but this seems to be giving up farming land to this project. Though it may not be great farming land, perhaps investments in land drainage etc. would turn it into productive land, but the cynic in me knows this won’t happen as there is not enough money to be made for such an investment. Needless to say, that should these plans go ahead I won’t be visiting this area and will find some other county with country side, that hasn't allowed the area to be spoiled.
