I have lived and worked on the land in this area all my life. As now a [REDACTED] year old, with children and grandchildren, I have seen this area change alot. When I was a child I lived with my family at Spaldington, and remember my dad taking water across to the people living on the airfield when it froze in 47. Farming has always been a tough job with little reward. This land is low quality and is struggling to leave a profit. As the government seem to want to import low quality, cheap food from who knows where, why not produce renewable energy. As ever with these projects, objectors insist the countryside will be concreted over. No such thing. The fields will be a haven for wildlife from bat's, birds, brown hares, hedgehogs, newts, toads and wild flowers boosting insects. The footpaths will be amazing to walk down. I can only hope I'm here to see it happen. Thank you.
