My main area of concern is around the potential use of the farm track directly opposite my house as an access route for construction traffic during the build phase of the project. The road through Newsholme village is a single track road with no pavements or passing places and is currently designated as unsuitable for HGVs. The relatively small amount of HGV traffic that currently passes through the village associated with willow farming is already disruptive to residents. Both my husband and I work from home, our work spaces face the farm track and we would find it difficult to work effectively with the volume and nature of construction traffic that would pass by over a prolonged period if this route was used as access to the proposed solar farm. I'm not opposed to the project in principal, but I also walk my dog daily on the public footpaths that cross the proposed site and am concerned about the impact on this lovely green space and the wildlife that we see there that a project of this scale would have.
