For an extensive period, Gatwick has steadfastly functioned as a substantial pillar of national infrastructure, fostering the prosperity of our members and the diverse entities we stand for in the Gatwick Hotel Association, which is composed of over 30 eminent hotels. As an alliance, symbolising the unity of our hotel members, we correspond with you today. Our membership has seen firsthand the advantages of Gatwick's influence, from facilitating global and regional connections to enhancing the capacity and resilience of our local businesses. The successful realisation of this project will undoubtedly create new opportunities for growth and resilience. Among the anticipated benefits are: The establishment of new global and regional connections, allowing businesses and tourism to thrive further. An unlocking of new capacity, which will aid in improving resilience, especially important in a post-pandemic landscape. A strong injection into the local economy, supporting the creation of new jobs, bolstering tourism, and facilitating trade. The generation of more than 10,000 new jobs, providing a significant uplift to the local economy. The infusion of over £1 billion per annum into the region’s economy, marking a massive boost to our economic landscape. Moreover, we express our profound appreciation for Gatwick's efforts towards environmental sustainability. Their commitment to low carbon growth aligns seamlessly with the broader aims of the UK aviation sector and supports the Government's climate change targets. It's notable that Gatwick's plan includes vital improvements to local infrastructure such as the upgrade of local roads, promising a smoother flow of traffic and mitigating potential disruptions. While acknowledging these benefits, we recognise that these opportunities for prosperity need to be nurtured and safeguarded. As such, we are united in our steadfast support for Gatwick's Northern Runway plans. We encourage our members and all supporters of this project to voice their endorsement for future growth and prosperity. Yours sincerely, Mr Tamas Jurca Chairman and General Manager of Alexander House Hotel and Utopia Spa Gatwick Hotel Association
