A second runway would have a serious detrimental effect on air quality, which would affect the health of people living in the area. Road & rail traffic would increase significantly, with no planned increase in infrastructure to accommodate it, by Gatwick Airport Ltd, which is ridiculous. There is spare capacity at Luton & Stanstead, so no need to expand Garwick runway capacity. Addional noise will be unacceptable Must be a night flight ban Air pollution will be far worse than the amount Gatwick Airport Ltd are claiming. They have omitted vital data from their calculations. Horrific additional pressure on local transport infrastructure, with no plans to extend it, except widening the A23, which will destroy the beautiful Riverside Gardens in Horley Additional water run-off will increase risk of River Mole flooding far more The expansion would not comply with the Airports National Policy Statement. There is spare capacity at Stanstead & Luton, so why not use that? The entire scheme makes a mockery of the “UK Net Zero Target for 2050” The economic benefits have been grossly exaggerated by Gatwick Aurport Ltd. The only people to benefit will be the shareholders. There is no acceptable justification for the entire proposal.
