More flights will have an adverse effect on air pollution and noise pollution. There will be more traffic on the local minor roads as well as main roads. More jobs mean more houses for workers in an area with already with over stretched infrastructure of schools, health facilities etc. On a personal note, my house is under the flight path and significantly increasing the flights with increased air an noise pollution will adversely effect my lifestyle and reduce the value of my property, I object to the proposed second runway at Gatwick for the following reasons. 1. There will be considerable disriuption during the biulding stage, much of which will have to be done at night while the one existing runway is closed. 2. There will be a considerable increase in air pollution and noise levels for people like me who live under the the flight path. 3. Extra workers, many low paid, will put a considerable strain on local housing and amenities. 4. The current rail and road infrastructure is already at a stretch and cannot take the demands of more passengers and workers. 5. More flights and more vehicles will create a considerable increase in carbon and other greenhouse gases at a time when we are already faced with globlal warming and climate change. 6. The airport is on a flood plain and more concrete will increase the problem of potential flooding.
