Completely opposed to the expansion of Gatwick . We live to the east of Gatwick and are on the. Tail end of the flight path. With planes overhead So 1. Excessive additional plane noise 2. Large increase in dangerous emissions ( air quality) 3. As opposed to Heathrow , Gatwick should have a complete zero fly policy from 11pm to 6am Currently this is not the case , so more additional noise during the night is not acceptable 4. I find it unbelievable that the submission does not take in the additional plane capacity/ noise / emissions . Gatwick say that is the airlines problem not theirs . 5. There will be no increas in jobs in the future . )(current jobs are 365 day shift work at low pay ) as there will be increased automation 6. Local rail road infrastructure cannot handle a increase 7. There is no alternative to aviation fuel for 30plus years . So this development collectively is a environmental no go It is a tragedy that Gatwick are applying for a second runway by stealth. We live at the tail end of the flight path. The foreign owners the French Vinci 51% and a foreign private equity ( all foreign syndicates ) only care about flight increases so they can make more money . None of this will remain in the Uk. In this now environmentally aware world how can Gatwick apply and not take into account the emissions from the additional planes , they say that is the airlines problems. Just wrong. Completely misrepresented the job increases, plus these jobs increased will be low skilled low paid 365 days a year shift work , which will be quickly phased out by using checkin automation etc . This application should be stopped in its tracks
