I live at (REDACTED) , and I am the County Councillor for Dorking Rural Division in Surrey. 90 million passengers a year, will increase the frequency of planes flying out of Gatwick without noise respite for local people. There should be mitigation for local residents who will experience no benefits - only more discomfort from this planning application especially if there is no ban on night flights. The plan does not have any plans to alleviate traffic and congestion for local roads through the villages to the north of the airport, which will taken the burden of more traffic from an already congested motorway network. The plan expects to build more car parks, and does not address the issue of limited local public transport in the rural villages. Without a plan for traffic management, which should include plans to prevent traffic from using rural roads as rat runs to the airport and a noise management plan which should see as its aim a hard target to reduce noise as passenger numbers grow, I would hope the Inspectors will refuse this application.
