We do not have the infrastructure to sustain more flights. Poor roads, inadequate railways, no east west rail lines, not enough housing and frankly we don’t want more houses built around Gatwick. Gatwick does not have the infrastructure or capacity to increase flights. One motorway serving north to south but insufficient roads east to west and vice versa. Crawley and nearby villages are full. Schools are full. Surgeries are full even in Crowborough. I doubt it is better nearer Gatwick. Heathrow has similar problems. If expansion is warranted a new airport should be built on land reclaimed off the Essex coast.
