I am deeply concerned about the massive environmental impact a second runway at Gatwick airport would make. I cannot comprehend why this is being even considered when we are in a Climate crisis here in the UK and globally. The number of planes and plane noise plus flying through out the night, more so than ever. I have lived in West Sussex for 31 years. Their has been a huge increase in planes flying from Gatwick airport during this time. With that a huge increase in noise and air pollution which is not supporting a healthy environment for nature and human beings to thrive in. To have to tolerate so much plane noise at night during the summer months especially, when it is hot and windows have to be opened is not enabling us to have a good, healthy night's sleep. Surely, money should be invested elsewhere for greener ways of travelling that are environmentally friendly? I don't see Gatwick airport taking proper, decisive, ethical actions and following them through to improve the of quality life on earth. I feel they are doing very little and are not being transparent with the local communities or demonstrating environmental improvements. It would be so good to have better working relationships to develop a more sustainable, less greedy way of working and investing in greener travel.
