I am concerned about the increased noise, the emissions and the decreased air quality, the impact on climate change, the lack of adequate surface transport (and the lack of possibility of rectifying this) and the impact on housing of greatly increased demand in the area and the consequent strain on amenities. My main concern is the increased carbon emissions that this extra runway will create. Climate experts unanimously agree we must reduce our emissions. Expanding airports and the travel industry isn't going to do this. I am also concerned about the inadequate transport access with resulting pressure on surrounding roads, and the increased building and population in the area with its pressure on local services: schools, doctors, etc. There is also the issue of increased noise, which will mostly affect those in the area, but will also increase for the millions who live on Gatwick's flight paths.
