I hardly know where to start! The almost constant aircraft noise overhead makes life intolerable in my garden or in bed at night if the window is open. It is scarcely believable that there is a possibility that Gatwick Airport would be allowed to expand its activities with a second full-time runway. The intention of the management to convert the emergency runway to full time use is a disingenuous attempt to circumvent the controls on further airport expansion. In view of the climate control emergency we should be looking at ways of limiting and reducing air travel - not the reverse. There is not the infrastructure in place to support a substantial emergency, nor is there available housing or water supply in the crowded South East. Nor do we want or need further desecration of our countryside in order to provide such things.
