Der Sirs, With regard to the proposal to expand the airport to facilitate more flights they have not taken into account the additional noise from the jet engines which we are already suffering from. It is basically impossible to sleep through the night due to the constant aircraft engine noise. Being unable to open bedroom windows during normal temperatures is bad enough however, when the summer months afford us with warmer nights it is difficult to sleep without the additional noise from aircraft constantly flying overhead. Are they aware that sleep deprivation is detrimental to health and leads to many issues? In addition to this, noise from the aircraft engines is annoying during the day when it would be nice to spend time in the garden. Once again, it is impossible to relax in the garden. In addition to the noise they should consider the environment. We need to protect our planet from fumes the additional flights together with the millions of vehicle journeys from prospective clients and not to mention the additional amount of vehicle journeys which would be taken by the extra personnel who would be required to ensure that the airport runs efficiency. In the past 10 years the M23 has been enhanced to take the additional traffic at that time. Their proposals would cause more traffic which would do nothing but cause traffic jams with millions of tons of CO2 being poured into the atmosphere. Obviously they are unconcerned about the future of children only the vast profits to be made from this expansion. It is my opinion that the funding would be better spent providing a rail link to Stanstead where the additional requirement for air travel could be shared.
