The proposed project is/will: - vital to the long term economic viability of the Gatwick hinterland. - secure the livelihoods of a large number of employees both directly and indirectly. - increase employment in the Crawley area, which studies showed as being one of the worst Covid affected areas in the country. - increase air passenger capacity in the South East, which per forecasts will be required, at a low comparative cost to alternatives, and, at lower environmental impact than alternatives. - in line with current Government policy of using existing assets.
