Gatwick should not even be where it is now let alone be allowed to expand. The environmental impact cannot be offset in any way. The major increase in pollution by the additional flights, the mass expansion in vehicular movements and congestion in the small nearby side lanes and roads will make unbearable to the local population. The noise impact would have a devastating effect on the lives and health of tens of thousands living around Gatwick. As a nation looking to reduce our impact on the environment and aiming for net zero we should be reducing the number of flights and road journeys not increasing them. Gatwick should move to a coastal location which would lessen its impact in all aspects. This expansion must not go ahead.
