We are the victims of considerable aircraft noise from their take-offs and landings at the single existing Gatwick runway. This can be at any time of day or night and the aircraft often fly directly over our house. One of the most disturbing and frequent times is early in the morning, sometimes as early as 4am, but predominantly from about 6am onwards. The loud aircraft noise wakes us up, which should not be allowed, and we cannot get back to sleep because once it has started it continues at very regular intervals. The development of a second runway using the "so called North runway", which just a taxiing strip not a runway, would increase the noise pollution that we suffer and probably almost double it. This increase in noise pollution is totally unacceptable and the development should not be permitted on this factor alone although there are also many other environmental factors which are similarly important and should also prevent its construction.
