We live in a AONB but are blighted by aircraft noise daily. If aircraft take off towards the east, they then swing round over our area & are usually at about 4,500 to 6,000 ft. If they depart to the west, then they are lower, at about 3,500ft. In addition, we have aircraft departing Heathrow, heading across us at about 8,000-10,000ft. From 0530 every morning, we have the longhaul aircraft, mainly from the USA, being held in the Ockham holding area, circling above us. Sometimes these aircraft circle 2-3 times. So as far as an AONB, the skies above are filled with aircraft noise, at low levels. This would only increase if LGW expands. These areas are outstandingly beautiful, not only to live, but bringing in people from all over, to walk, hike, cycle & improve health & wellbeing. It is becoming more like living in Hounslow than Surrey with the noise. With aircraft making emergency landings etc, this would include dumping fuel. London have pushed ULEZ on to us, but the noise & pollution levels are becoming much greater in the countryside. Traffic would be another concern on our country roads.
