Why are Gatwick looking to expand the airport when we are being told we need less travel not more to meet climate targets. The effects of an extra runway doubles capacity and is not a sustainable approach. The impact on the surrounding area and its people is too high - the skies above are already congested and to send planes over Leith Hill - which has suddenly been happening over the last couple of weeks - damages its AONB status with noise pollution and poorer air quality. We do not need another large airport in the south east with london heathrow so close by. This expansion does not have my support.
