As a lifelong resident of this area I find that this proposed increase in passenger/air traffic to be the the straw that has broken this camel's back and I am considering moving away because of the already incessant noise pollution that Gatwick causes. Living in Reigate I find that I am bombarded by aircraft noise from 05.30 until midnight and just cannot face the prospect of this being increased. The local infrastructure can barely cope with the burden already imposed by the airport and any extra load would surely be too much to bear. With the climate-change crisis addressing most people's minds (not airlines though) how on earth can adding extra capacity to Gatwick's flight movements make any sense at all? The government should be making every attempt to make it more difficult/costly for us to fly and drive wherever and whenever we wish.
