Extra pollution from the aircraft and extra noise. Losing valuable green space in an already over populated area which has lost so much green space and wildlife already. Extra pollution from the traffic during construction and after construction creating extra traffic on already heavily congested roads. Extra buildings to accommodate workers at the airport which we have no more space for new developments in the area - this will also have an impact as not only will we lose more green space but the extra strain this will cause on the general infrastructure - we do not have enough schools, doctors, etc for the population we already have and this will just increase the pressure. This will really affect the quality of life of people living near the airport in terms of pollution, noise and generally getting around due to increased traffic levels.
