I wish to object unless there is an vast improvement in infrastructure and prevention of vehicles using villages to cut through to access what will be a huge expansion of traffic and people if this is allowed. Currently in our small village we already receive a vast amount of through traffic going and coming from Gatwick, as our village is used as a cut through to south London areas. It would very highly detrimental to our village and way of life in this rural setting and area of outstanding natural beauty, area of great British Landscape Value and Conservation Area to make it even worse. Therefore I could and would only agree to such proposals as this increase in passenger numbers if sufficient funding is used to protect rural areas from additional traffic, and there is serious injection of infrastructure spending in roads and rail to keep the roads free and safe. Blighting the whole of the surrey countryside is not acceptable, and special measures would need to be in place and major roads re designed to prevent shortcuts.
