It will greatly increase pollution where I live. It will greatly increase traffic through our village and the surrounding villages which are already rat-runs for traffic cutting through to Gatwick. There is no demand for the increase in capacity for flights as people have online meetings and travel less. Carbon emissions are meant to be reducing. There seem to be fewer aircraft taking off now. Air Traffic Control is not fit for the extra capacity - evidenced recently when not enough staff were on duty. The airport can’t cope with the volume as it stands without any increase in existing levels of air traffic. Alterations to the roads network would be chaotic. The most important issue is pollution - we already have pollution from Heathrow over this village so increasing it from Gatwick is environmental madness. What about reducing our carbon footprint?
