I think that the balance between growing the economy, expansion of national infrastructure and the citizens right to enjoy the peaceful environs of the rurual countryside is not being correctly considered. The vast increase in air traffic that will be created by the opening of a second runway - even if only for short haul flights - will impose unacceptable additional noise and disturbance to citizens living within 12-15 miles of Gatwick. As well as the noise of aircraft from early morning to late at night (and occasionally throughout the night) the increase in road traffic, off-site parking down side roads and associated air and noise pollution is unacceptable and must be avoided at all costs. To reduce the 'domestic' vehicle traffic on-site parking and short term access should be greatly reduced and travelling passengers should be encouraged to utilise public transport.
